If you are a rather non-conventional Engineering or Science student, trying to have an impact towards a more sustainable society, you may find this interesting.
We at KarmSolar are working on introducing solar energy and sustainable solutions that are commercially competitive with conventional fuels. For our first private sector constructed, owned & operated solar farm in Egypt, we welcome interns, to help the Technical team design, supply all components, construct and operate the farm. The interns will also participate in the development of new sustainable products according to work schedule.
You don’t need to have background in solar energy but proficiency in all engineering / science skills(calculations, modeling, orders of magnitude, programming, self-training in new topics) is a must.
You will also have to deal with suppliers, contractors and client on-site, so you should have good interpersonal skills, and be proficient in Arabic and English.
The internships will be challenging. At least 3 months of duration is better so that you get enough training and deliver something you can be proud of.
Expect to travel extensively on-site (around 4 hours away from Cairo) and to spend long time over there.
